At the start of your recovery journey, there are three key steps to take, known as the ATM Model: Access, Time, and Money. The first crucial step is limiting access to gambling, and the most effective way to do this is through self-exclusion.

You’ve likely spent a lot of time gambling, and now you might feel anxious about how to fill that time. One way to address this is by scheduling activities and tasks for yourself. Think about exploring a new hobby or revisiting old interests that you may have set aside during your time spent gambling.

What are your financial health goals? Write them down. This is crucial because it provides you with clear, tangible objectives to work toward, rather than just the sense that you’re slowly tackling your debt.
